“Spring! A fresh start. The air is full of renewal and spring blossoms are so cheerful and energizing after the grey of winter. The days are getting longer and the sun warmer. We get a “spring” in our step and choose to walk rather than drive when possible. Social calendars begin to fill with lunches on the verandah and Sunday picnics. What a glorious season.” – HNK pg. 47
I arrived back in the US on March 20th, the first day of SPRING! Brooklyn was a different place than what I left. Sidewalks, once empty, icy and littered were now full of colorful cafe & restaurant tables filled with laughing, smiling, spirited PEOPLE! Where did everyone come from, crawl out from under?! I thought my little pocket of Brooklyn was sleepy and small. No, everyone was just hibernating!
There are tiny little buds on all the trees and window boxes are overnite transformed into happy little tanning beds filled with tulips, hyacinths and daffodils! It’s here…a new beginning!
